The 2025–26 New York Knicks season will be the 80th season for the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). On June 3, 2025, the Knicks fired head coach Tom Thibodeau after five seasons with the team.[1] On July 7, 2025, the Knicks hired Mike Brown as their head coach.[2]

Round | Pick | Player | Position(s) | Nationality | College / club |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
2 | 50 | Kobe Sanders | SG/SF | United States | Nevada (Sr.) |
The Knicks entered this draft period (which lasted for two days, similar to the previous year's draft) holding only one second-round pick.[3][4] They initially had another second-round pick, but it was forfeited due to tampering violations with respect to free agency involving the Knicks first signing Jalen Brunson to the team.[5] The Knicks forfeiting their own second-round pick this year would ultimately become the only second round pick lost in this season's draft after previously having the prior three drafts done with only 58 total picks in each of them due to multiple teams (including the Knicks in the past) violating free agency rules during the respective offseason periods in mind. The Knicks selected Kobe Sanders with the 50th pick in the draft, only to immediately trade his draft rights to the Los Angeles Clippers for the 51st pick, which they then used to draft Mohamed Diawara, and the draft rights to Luka Mitrović.[6]
