The Clippers entered this draft period (which lasted for two days, similar to the previous year's draft) holding only one first-round pick.[1][2] Their sole selection came from the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder swapping first-round picks with the Clippers this year, while their second-round selection would originally be traded to the inner city rivaling Los Angeles Lakers before the Lakers ended up trading that selection to the Utah Jazz as a part of the Luka Dončić–Anthony Davis trade of 2025.
