The 2025–26 Oklahoma City Thunder season will be the 18th season of the franchise in Oklahoma City and the 59th in the National Basketball Association (NBA). For the second time in franchise history and for the first time in Oklahoma City, the Thunder will enter the season as the defending NBA champions, having defeated the Indiana Pacers in the previous year's NBA Finals in seven games.

Previous season

The Thunder finished the 2024–25 season 68–14 to finish first in the Northwest Division, first in the Western conference for a second consecutive year and qualified for the playoffs. The Thunder won its first round series, sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies. Thunder won its Second round series by going to 7 games against Denver Nuggets, Thunder won the western conference finals in 5 games for the first time since the 2011–12 season against Minnesota Timberwolves. Thunder advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011–2012 season and won the NBA Finals by defeating the Indiana Pacers in seven games.

The Thunder entered this draft period (which lasted for two days, similar to the previous year's draft) holding two first-round picks and one second-round picks, with selections being acquired through trades made in previous seasons (including the late first-round pick acquired through a pick swap with the Los Angeles Clippers by the franchise-changing trade involving Shai Gilgeous-Alexander).[1][2]
