The 2026 Sioux Falls mayoral election will take place on a date to be determined in 2026. Incumbent Mayor Paul TenHaken is term-limited and unable to run for a third consecutive term. Following the passage of House Bill 1130 in 2025, municipal elections in the state must be held on either the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June (the statewide primary date) or the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November (the statewide general election date). The City Council has not yet determined when the election will be scheduled.[1]
