Wadi al-Quf Nature Reserve (Arabic: محمية وادي القف) is a nature reserve located near the town of Tarqumiyah in the Hebron Governorate, south of the West Bank.[1]
Geography
Located 6 km northwest of the city of Hebron, it is the largest green area in the West Bank, covering an area of more than 4,600 dunams.[2]
Description
Planted with forest trees such as cypress, Aleppo pine, oak, swede, tamarisk, carob, and Palestinian terebinth.[3]
Wildlife and Biodiversity
It contains dense trees and forests, providing a safe haven for many migratory birds and beautiful butterflies. It provides a refuge for a large number of wildlife due to the dense tree population in the area.[4] Freshwater springs flow through it, irrigating the agricultural plants. It is considered a park for residents of the governorate and surrounding areas.[5]
