Football Club Zeta Milano, commonly known as Zeta Milano or colloquially as Zeta (pronounced [ˈzeːta]), is an Italian football club based in Milan, Lombardy, who will compete in Seconda Categoria, the 8th tier of the Italian football league system.

History

The club was officially founded on May 22, 2024, by 26-year-old YouTuber Antonio Pellegrino, better known online as ZWJackson.[1][‡ 1] Famous for his content on sports video games like FIFA/EA Sports FC, he had already gained real-life football experience, playing in Italy's Terza Categoria with Play2Give and even appearing in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers with San Marino's La Fiorita.[2]

In May 2024, he announced the creation of the club through his Instagram profile, calling it "the first social-driven football team". True to this vision, he allowed his followers to decide the team's name, colors, and crest. The final choice was FC Zeta Milano, with red, white, and black as the official colors.[‡ 1] The crest was later announced by Italian actor Paolo Ruffini.[3] After announcing Chiaramonte as the coach and choosing the 'Gaetano Scirea' sports field in Buccinasco as their home ground,[‡ 1][4] on May 30, they announced Jeda Capucho as their first signing.[5][3][6] Once all the signings were completed, the club was registered in the Terza Categoria, being placed in the B group of the Milan section. The official debut took place on September 8 in the Coppa Lombardia, with a dominant 7–0 victory over Lacchiarella,[7] which was documented by the president through a vlog on his YouTube account, as will be the case for all the matches.[‡ 2] On October 9 they also made their debut in Terza Category with a 0–4 win over Virtus Abbiatense.[8]

During the winter break, Zeta Milano played a friendly against former Serie A side Siena. The match ended 7–0 in favor of the Tuscans, who handed Pellegrino's team their first defeat.[9] On March 16, after dominating the championship with 22 wins and 2 draws in the first 24 matchdays, they clinched the title with a 7–0 victory over Futsei, coupled with the simultaneous defeat of second-placed Brera, securing the championship with 6 matchdays to spare.[10][‡ 3] Following the championship victory, the president first signed television presenter Alessandro Cattelan[11] as a footballer and later influencer Luca Campolunghi, who is also the chairman of a club in the Kings League Italia.[12][13] Both took part in official matches on separate occasions. Later in the season, the club goes on to win the regional cup, the Coppa Lombardia, with a 2–0 victory over Polisportiva Pessina.[14]

At the end of the season, on May 24, 2025, President Pellegrino announced that for the 2025–2026 season, the club would no longer play in Buccinasco, but would instead move to the Luigi Fabbri Municipal Sports Field in Trezzano sul Naviglio.[15] He also announced the creation of a youth section called Zeta Future.[15]

A few days later, coach Chiaramonte resigned,[16] while Christian Brocchi, former coach of the club in the Kings League, was appointed general director.[17]

Kings League

On 18 November 2024, during the event in Turin where the 12 clubs set to participate in the Italian Kings League were announced, FC Zeta was confirmed as one of them.[20]

Alongside president Pellegrino, former Italy national football team player Luca Toni was introduced as the club's co-president.[20] The team appointed professional coach Cristian Brocchi as its manager,[21][22] while the announced wild cards were Alessio Buono, already the first-team goalkeeper for Zeta, Matteo Perrotti,[23] a player from Serie D, and former Milan footballer Hachim Mastour.[20][24] During the regular season of the first split, Zeta FC finished in second place behind TRM FC, securing a spot in the play-offs as well as qualification for the Kings World Cup Clubs, scheduled for June 2025 in France.[25] The team was led by Matteo Perroti, who stood out as the top performer of the competition. He set an international Kings League record for the most goals scored in a regular season (30), and also led in assists (10) and successful dribbles (100), dominating all individual statistics.[26]

Ahead of the final stage, the club announced former professional footballer Alessandro Matri and Cosimo Chiricò as their Wild Card picks.[27] With the help of these additions, Zeta FC reached the final, but were heavily defeated 10–2 by TRM FC.[28][29]

In June 2025, the team took part in the 2025 Kings World Cup Clubs. After progressing from the group stage with victories over Mexico's Olimpo United[30] (5–2) and France's Karasu (5–3),[31] their run ended in the round of 16, where they were eliminated by fellow Italians Gear7.[32]
