DYIO (101.1 FM) - broadcasting as Y101 - is a radio station owned by GVM Radio/TV Corporation and operated by Y2H Broadcasting Network, Inc.[1] The station's studio and transmitter are located at the BSP Camp, Capitol Hills, Brgy. Lahug, Cebu City. This station operates round-the-clock.[2][3][4]
History
DYIO began its test transmission in 1979 and made its inaugural broadcast on March 1, 1980, under the ownership of Trans-Radio Broadcasting Corporation of Emilio Tuason, the original owner of Manila-based 99.5 RT. The station's original studio was located at Danaque Building along Osmeña Blvd.
Tuason and his cousin Binggoy Remedios were the station's first voices. Y101 adapted 99.5 RT's format and iconic slogan "The Rhythm of the City".
Since the 1990s, Y101 transferred its ownership to GVM Radio/TV Corporation, owned by Emilio's sister Martha Tuason. Y101 changed to its slogan, "Always First", which later adopted the tagline "Red Hot Radio" in March 2023.[5]
In 2024, GVM entered its airtime lease and sales/marketing agreement with Y2H Broadcasting Network. In April 2025, the station transferred its location to BSP Camp (sharing with now-defacto sister station 92.3 FM) after its 2-decade broadcast from Gaisano Country Mall.
On May 18, 2025, Y101 began simulcasting on Quest Broadcasting-owned 92.3 FM.
