The brig was abandoned in the Atlantic Ocean (50°32′N 12°46′W / 50.533°N 12.767°W / 50.533; -12.767) with the loss of one of her ten crew. Survivors were rescued by Sarah ( United Kingdom). Courier was on a voyage from Miramichi, New Brunswick, British North America to The Mumbles, Glamorgan.[23][24][25] She came ashore at A Coruña, Spain on 25 September.[26]
