Italy will host the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, from 6 to 22 February 2026.

Alpine skiing

Italy has qualified a minimum of two female and two male alpine skiers as host.[8][9]

Biathlon

Italy has qualified five female and five male biathletes through the 2024–25 Biathlon World Cup score.[10]

Cross-country skiing

Italy has qualified six female and five male cross-country skiers.[11]

Italy qualified their men's team (five athletes), their women's team (five athletes), and their mixed doubles team (two athletes) by their status as host.[12]

Figure skating

In the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in Boston, the United States, Italy secured two quota in each of the men's singles, one quota in each of the women's singles, two quota in each of the pair skating, and one quota in each of the ice dance.[13]

Freestyle skiing

Italy can qualify an athlete in each event (five male and five female) through their status as host if they meet eligibility requirements.[14] So far they have athletes for six of ten events (big air and slopestyle are grouped as one for qualifying).[15]

Ice hockey

Italy qualified 25 male and 23 female competitors in hockey, for a total of 48 athletes.[16]

Italy has qualified a minimum of one male and one female athlete as host.[20]

Ski mountaineering

Italy has qualified one female and one male ski mountaineer through their status as host.[21] Following the completion of the 2025 ISMF World Championships, Italy has qualified further one female ski mountaineer.[22][23]
