It'z Me (stylized as IT'z ME) is the second extended play (EP) by the South Korean girl group Itzy. It was released by JYP Entertainment on March 9, 2020, and contains seven tracks, including the lead single "Wannabe". It features songs produced by Galactika, Oak Felder, Oliver Heldens, earattack, Shim Eunji, Collapsedone, Jin by Jin, Sophie, and KASS.
The EP received positive reviews from critics, praising the groups evolving sound and empowering concepts of self-confidence. Upon its release, It'z Me debuted at number 1 on the Gaon Album Chart, at number 5 on the US Billboard World Albums chart, and sold over 126,000 units in its first month.
Background and release
"ITZY finished filming the music video for their comeback ahead of their showcase tour in the United States. The exact timing of their comeback is undecided."
On January 28, 2020, JYP Entertainment announced that Itzy would release a new record in spring.[2][3] From Febrauary 18 to 20, the group's teaser images were revealed.[4][5][6] From February 23 to 27, individual teasers for each member were unveiled.[7][8][9][10][11] On the first day of March, the track listing was revealed.[12] On March 4 and 5, music video teasers for the title track "Wannabe" were released[13][14] On March 9, Itzy released It'z Me, alongside a music video for its lead single. Three versions of the EP's physical release were made available, IT'z, ME, and WANNABE.[15]
Music and composition
It'z Me is a K-pop record, influenced by dance, hip hop and rock. The release continued the group's exploration of new areas in the K-pop scene and in discovering their own musical identity.[16] The lead single "Wannabe" includes elements of dance-pop with a strong beat, which are characteristic of K-pop.[17] It was written and produced by Galactika. “Ting Ting Ting” is a "rowdy-yet-fierce EDM cut". "That's a No No" is a high-energy Latin-infused pop song. "Nobody Like You" is an upbeat song that incorporates elements of pop-rock. "You Make Me" is primarily pop, with elements of electronic and hip-hop. "I Don't Wanna Dance" blends house with moombahton. "24Hrs" is a hyperpop song, described as a "quirky-pop stomper". It is the only K-pop song that features music production from the late Sophie. [18]
Live performances
On March 12, 2020, the group made their debut performance of 'Wannabe" on M Countdown.[19] From March 13 to April 4, Itzy performed "Wannabe" twice on Music Bank,[20][21] Show! Music Core,[22][23] and Inkigayo.[24][25]

Billboard 's Jeff Benjamin gave a positive review, writing that "Itzy continue their string of empowering and confident singles with the most striking difference in It'z Me coming from the group's overall sound becoming harder and featuring more electronic productions." IZM's Kim Do-heon felt that the "five members of Itzy, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna powerfully shout out "I don't wanna be somebody / Just wannaa be me" in the chorus of "Wannabe". However, contrary to the intention, at this point where the members' voices come together as one, traces of numerous "wannabes" are captured, just like the song's title".[26]
Commercial performance
"Wannabe" debuted at number 6 on the Gaon Digital Chart, giving the group their third top ten song.[28] The song debuted at number 4 on the US World Digital Song Sales chart. It also became the group's first top-five entry since "Dalla Dalla" and their third top-ten entry overall.[29] In New Zealand the song peaked at number 22 on the Hot Singles chart.[30] In Japan "Wannabe" debuted at number 23.[31] The group became the fifth K-pop female act to appear on the Canadian Hot 100, when "Wannabe" appeared on the chart at number 92. The song topped the charts in Malaysia and Singapore, which became their first number one song on both charts.[32][33]
On March 21, It'z Me debuted at number 5 on the US Billboard World Albums chart.[34] According to Hanteo, the album sold over 34,000 physical copies on its first day of release, selling twice as many copies as It'z Icy. The EP also debuted atop the Gaon Weekly Album Chart, becoming their first number one album in the country.[35] It also debuted at number 27 in Poland, marking it their first ever appearance on a European chart.
Music video
The music video for the title track accumulated over 11 million views within 24 hours of its release. On April 2020, it had over 100 million views on Youtube, and as of June 2025, it has over 560 million views on the platform.[17][36]
