"Get With It" is a song by the American rock band, Something Clever featuring Fit for Rivals lead singer Renee Phoenix.[1] The song was released as a promotional single from the band's fourth EP, Moments: Blue on March 1, 2019, via Bunker Hill Records.[2] “Get With It” marked the last single with the band members Brett Baker, Lawrence “Lo” West, and Justin Tyme before the band transitioned into a duo with singer Adam Nelson and guitarist Kelly Flusk remaining as the band's sole two members.
Background and history
"Get With It" was conceived during the recording sessions for the band's dual EP project, "Moments: Red" and "Moments: Blue," which took place between late 2017 and 2018. The track was recorded at JP Audio Labs in Colfax, North Carolina, with studio owner Joe Potts producing the majority of the work with Shaun Singerling engineering the project.[3]
The band aimed to explore a more collaborative approach for this project, leading to the collaboration with Renee Phoenix, known from the band Fit for Rivals.[4]

Promotion and release
"Get With It" was officially released as a promotional single on March 1, 2019, coinciding with the release of the Moments: Blue EP.[7] To promote the single, Something Clever held an EP release celebration show at their hometown venue, The Fillmore: Underground in Charlotte, North Carolina, on March 30, 2019.[8]
In late May 2019 it was announced Something Clever was filming a music video for the song via their social media pages.[9] The band released the official music video on September 20, 2019, which premiered on platforms such as YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify.[10] The video was directed by Justin Beasley and featured actor Rob Kellum, also known as "Papa Stro Maestro" and with Renee Phoenix from the band Fit for Rivals, who provided guest vocals for the track.[11] The music video was released a few weeks prior to the band's performance at the 2019 Carolina Uprising music festival, which was promoted by Bunker Hill Records.
