Incumbent Mayor

LaToya Cantrell
Democratic

The 2025 New Orleans mayoral election will be held on October 11, 2025, to elect the mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana. Under the Louisiana primary system, all candidates will appear on the same ballot regardless of party. If none manage to achieve a majority of the vote, a runoff is scheduled to be held on November 15 between the top-two candidates.[1]

Incumbent mayor LaToya Cantrell is term-limited and thus ineligible to run for re-election in 2025. She was re-elected outright in 2021 with 64.7% of the vote, avoiding a runoff.
