The 2025 Mobile mayoral election will be held on August 26, 2025, with a runoff on September 23 if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in the general election. It will elect the next mayor of Mobile, Alabama. Municipal elections in Mobile are officially nonpartisan.
Incumbent mayor Sandy Stimpson is not running for re-election to a fourth term in office.[1]
Background
Sandy Stimpson was first elected mayor in 2013, defeating incumbent mayor and current state representative Sam Jones.[2] Stimpson was reelected in 2017 and 2021.[3] On September 25, 2024, Mobile mayor Sandy Stimpson publicly announced he would not seek reelection to a fourth term.[1] Following Stimpson's announcement, speculation began on who would seek the seat. This will be the first time in 20 years where no incumbent is running for mayor of Mobile.[4]
