The 2024 Alabama Senate District 9 special election was scheduled to be held on April 23, 2024, but was cancelled following the primary election, as no Democratic candidate filed to run. The primary election was held on January 9, 2024.[1][2]
Background
Incumbent senator Clay Scofield resigned on October 30, 2023, to become the executive vice president of the Business Council of Alabama.[3][4]
