Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom, the Championship season was stopped after game 37 until further notice. However, on 31 May 2020, the EFL agreed to a provisional restart date of the weekend of 20 June 2020 for the 2019/20 Championship season.[4]

Notes:
  1. ^ As a result of Wigan Athletic entering administration, the club was subject to a 12-point deduction. In accordance with EFL regulations, the timing of the sporting sanction was only determined once final league placings in the Championship were determined. Since the club did not finish in the relegation places at the end of season, the sanction was applied to their 2019–20 total and final league standings were amended as appropriate.[76]
