Ziomara Esket Morrison Jara (born February 15, 1989) is a Chilean professional basketball player. In 2012, she became the first Chilean to play in the WNBA when she was a member of the San Antonio Stars.[1]
Career
Born in Pedro Aguirre Cerda commune, Santiago, Chile, Morrison joined Basket UC at the age of 11. At the age of 15, she moved to Italy and joined Banco di Sicilia Ribera.[2][3][4]
In February 2012, Morrison signed with the San Antonio Stars.[2][5] She was released by the team in May 2013, after an injury to Becky Hammon forced the club to sign another player.[6] She returned to the WNBA with Indiana Fever in 2014.[3]
In January 2018, Morrison signed with Skallagrímur of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna ahead of its game in the semi-finals of the Icelandic Women's Basketball Cup.[7] In the semi-finals, Skallagrímur lost to Njarðvík despite Morrison's 25 points and 15 rebounds.[8]
In 2023, Morrison played for Greek team Olympiacos and switched to French team Flammes Carolo the next year.[9][10]
In 2025, Morrison joined Escuela Alemana from Paillaco in her homeland.[11]
Personal life
Her father, Rodolfo, is a Panamanian former basketball player at the DIMAYOR in the 1980's.[3]
