Yuliia Volodymyrivna Starodubtseva (Ukrainian: Юлія Володимирівна Стародубцева; born 17 February 2000) is a Ukrainian tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 67 by the WTA, achieved on 9 June 2025, and peaked at No. 144 in the WTA doubles rankings on 9 May 2024. She became the first woman in the Open Era to qualify for all Grand Slams in a single season.[1][2]

Starodubtseva has won four singles titles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.

She played college tennis at Old Dominion University.[3][4][5]

Career

2023: First ITF Circuit title

Starodubtseva won her first $60k tournament in June 2023 in Sumter, South Carolina, defeating Indian player Karman Thandi.[6]

2024-25: Major, WTA 1000 debuts & quarterfinal, top 75

Starodubtseva reached the top 150 in the singles rankings on 15 January 2024. She made her major debut at the Australian Open after qualifying,[7][8][4] but lost in the first round to sixth seed Ons Jabeur.[5][9]

Starodubtseva made her French Open debut as a qualifier, but lost in straight sets to Cristina Bucșa.[10]

Starodubtseva recorded her first main-draw major win at the Wimbledon, as a qualifier, over Alison Van Uytvanck, on her debut.[11] In the second round, she lost to fellow qualifier Lulu Sun.[12]

Ranked No. 146, Starodubtseva made her debut at the US Open, after qualifying into the main draw but lost to 20th seed Victoria Azarenka, in three sets.[13] Starodubtseva became the first woman in the Open Era to qualify for all four majors in a single season.[1]

In September, Starodubtseva reached her first WTA Tour quarterfinal at the 2024 Jasmin Open by defeating Suzan Lamens[14] and third seed Diane Parry,[15][16] before losing to Sonay Kartal.[17] At the China Open, she recorded, after qualifying, her first two main-draw WTA 1000-level wins over Laura Siegemund and 27th seed Kateřina Siniaková, her first top 50 win.[18] Next, she defeated Elina Avanesyan and tenth seed Anna Kalinskaya to reach the quarterfinals of a WTA 1000 for the first time in her career. As a result, she entered the top 100 in the singles rankings on 7 October 2024.[19][20][1]

At the 2025 French Open as the top seed,[2] Yulia Starodubtseva lost to teenager Sára Bejlek in straight sets in the last round of qualifying, ending a 14-match winning streak in Grand Slam qualifying.[21] Despite losing in the final round of qualifying, Starodubtseva entered the main draw as a lucky loser replacing Romanian Sorana Cîrstea. She defeated Tamara Korpatsch from Germany, also a qualifier,[22] and Anastasia Potapova to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.[23][24] As a result she reached a new career-high ranking of world No. 67 on 9 June 2025.[25] At the same tournament Starodubtseva also entered the doubles draw as an alternate pair with Anastasia Dețiuc. They defeated their first round opponents, the French wildcard duo Émeline Dartron and Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah.[26]
