Yerköy (Kurdish: Binerdkê;[2] Syriac: Beţ ‘Andarkī)[3][a] is a village in the municipality and district of Nusaybin, Mardin Province in Turkey.[5] The village is populated by Kurds of the Bêcirmanî tribe and had a population of 272 in 2021.[1][2]

History

Beţ ‘Andarkī (today called Yerköy) was historically inhabited by Syriac Orthodox Christians.[4] In the Syriac Orthodox patriarchal register of dues of 1870, it was recorded that the village had thirteen households, who paid thirty-six dues, and had one priest without a church.[4]
