The Working for Workers Act, 2023 (French: Loi de 2023 visant à oeuvrer pour les travailleurs) is an act of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario relating to labour rights.
Provisions
The act modifies the rules around mass layoffs to include remote workers.[1][2]
The legislation establishes new health and safety protections for workers, including fines for the withholding of passports, and cleaner and women-only washrooms on construction sites.[3] Properly fitting personal protective equipment is also required.[4]
Commencment
The act came into force on October 26, 2023.[5]
