William Hudson Rogers II (February 4, 1894 – July 11, 1975) was an American professor of English.
Life and career
Rogers was born in Virginia, the son of David and Lizzie Rogers.[1] He attended Davison College, earning his bachelor's degree in 1913. He also attended the University of Virginia, earning his master's degree in 1916.[2] His education was interrupted by military service during World War I, which after his discharge,[3] he returned to attend the University of Virginia, earning his PhD degree in English in 1922.[4]
Rogers served as a professor in the department of English at Florida State University from 1922 to 1964.[4] During his years as a professor, in 1956, he was named a distinguished professor.[5]
Death
Rogers died on July 11, 1975, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 81.[4][6]
