Wanarat Ratsameerat (Thai: วนรัตน์ รัศมีรัตน์; born 23 June 1994), nicknamed War (Thai: วอร์), is a Thai actor, singer, and ceramist. He is best known for his leading roles in the boys’ love (BL) series En of Love: Love Mechanics (2020) and Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart! (2024).
Early life and education
Wanarat was born in Khon Kaen, Thailand, on 23 June 1994. He has two sisters and obtained a degree in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Architecture at Khon Kaen University in 2017. [1]
Career
Acting
War made his acting debut in the 2016 short film *The Right Man: Because I Love You*. In 2018, he joined the management company Rookie Thailand. [1]
In 2020, he rose to fame portraying “Mark” in En of Love: Love Mechanics, part of the popular En of Love series. Even with 3.5 short episodes, this story and particular couple in En of Love received the most love from fans in Thailand as well as internationally, earning millions of views on Line TV and YouTube. The latest episode of Love Mechanics garnered over 1 million tweets, trending in many different countries and number one worldwide.[2]
The success of the series along with the overflowing chemistry of the two main actors launched the shipped couple called YinWar, which is the combined name of Wanarat (War) with co-star Anan Wong (Yin). Despite their series only having a few episodes, this duo managed to become one of the most talked about in 2020, earning many endorsements, appearances at events and shows, and nominations in various award categories.
Due to the popularity of YinWar and En Of Love: Love Mechanics, in October 2020, a full-length series called Love Mechanics The Series was announced to air in 2021 by Studio Wabi Sabi, which would consist of 16 episodes in total. In early 2021, Rookie Thailand announced that Love Mechanics would no longer be produced by Studio Wabi Sabi. In September 2021, WeTV revealed that Love Mechanics would be part of its 2022 lineup. This series was a collaboration between Rookie Thailand and WeTV, and was directed by Lit Samajarn. [3][4]
Along with the announcement of the full series, Wanarat's new show with his on-screen partner Anan called WxY was also announced. It premiered in December 2020 on Rookie Thailand's YouTube channel. [3]
He later starred as “Joker” in *Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart!* in 2024.[5]
Music
Wanarat made his official debut as a singer when he and Anan were featured in a song called Ta Taek by Thai rappers Milli and Wonderframe. The song was released in December 2020 on different music platforms and an official music video starring all four artists was also released on the same day on YouTube.
On October 20, 2020, he released a single called "Missing Baby" together with his colleague, Kanawut Traipipattanapong.
On March 10, 2021, Wanarat released their first official song On Mai Keng, which is a duet with Anan. On March 18, 2021, a week after the song's release date, an official music video featuring the two was uploaded to YouTube.
Personal life
In July 2020, Wanarat, along with his labelmates and close friends Anan Wong and Ratchapat Worrasarn, launched their first clothing brand under the name "Sobyohey".[6] He is also a ceramist and would like to make an exhibition of his ceramics.
