Vardan Ghukasyan

Vardan Kolya Ghukasyan (born 20 January 1961, Leninakan, Armenian SSR), is an Armenian blogger and politician. A pro-Russian blogger under the nickname "Dog",[1] he has been Mayor of Gyumri (formerly Leninakhan) from 2000 to 2012, and later from 2025.[2][3] A controversial figure, he is the defendant in several criminal cases in Armenia,[1] and is known for his extreme anti-LGBTQ comments.[4][5] He was arrested and detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement upon his arrival to the US in 2025.[6]
