Tomáš Uhliarik

Tomáš Uhliarik (born May 8, 1988) is a Slovak filmmaker, director, producer, and actor. He is best known for his work in Slovak cinema, television and theatre, as well as for founding the Bratislava-based production company uEnvision Studio. 3

Uhliarik was born in Slovakia and later moved to the United States to study experimental cinema at the State University of New York at Binghamton. 4 During his studies, he created the short films Doors and FrankieMan (both released in 2012). These early works were selected for Segments: The Orange County Short Film Fest, 1 marking his first public recognition as a filmmaker.

In 2013, he volunteered as a location scout for the Orange County NY Film Office 10 and contributed to several independent feature films produced in New York’s Hudson Valley region.

After returning to Slovakia, Uhliarik began working in local television, film, and theatre. In 2018, he founded uEnvision Studio Ltd., 3 a film production company dedicated to narrative storytelling, short films, and creative video projects. The studio has since collaborated with students, local organizations, and industry professionals on a variety of projects ranging from independent films to commercial productions.

In addition to his production work, Uhliarik has been teaching filmmaking since 2022 at SPŠE Hálova, 5, 7 a high school in Bratislava, where he mentors the next generation of young filmmakers.

Uhliarik has performed in both film and theatre. His acting credits include feature film such as Falling Daniel (2024) and American films including Approaching the Unknown and King Cobra (both 2016).

In Meteorit theatre, he is known for his leading roles in The Bacchae (2019), Emperor’s New Clothes (2023), and most recently, Murder on the Orient Express (2025), in which he portrayed Hercule Poirot.
