The Woman on the Beach is a 1955 British television play by Rex Rienits and Wolf Rilla based on a 1952 radio play by Rienits.[1] It involved location filming in Brighton.[2]
Premise
A woman in Brighton becomes infatuated with a doctor and sends poisoned chocolates to his wife.[3]

The play was based on a 1952 radio play.[4] This play was performed on Australian radio in 1953.[5][6]
Reception
The Western Mail "as a play... [it] is hardly worthy of consideration but producer and set designer are to be congratulated in capturing the atmosphere of the 90s."[7] The Bolton News called it "intensely absorbing."[8] "I found it all rather tedious" said the Manchester Evening News.[9] "I found much to enjoy" said the Daily Telegraph.[10]
