The Home is an upcoming American psychological horror film[3] directed by James DeMonaco, written by DeMonaco and Adam Cantor, and starring Pete Davidson, John Glover, and Bruce Altman.

Synopsis

Max, a troubled man, starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.[4]

Cast

Production

In September 2021, James DeMonaco confirmed to Collider to be directing a ‘paranoid psychological horror thriller’ titled The Home, with Pete Davidson in the lead role.[5] Produced by Miramax, principal photography took place in the New Jersey cities of Denville, Elizabeth and Nutley, from late January to early April 2022.[4][6] The closed senior living facility in Denville, Saint Francis Residential Community, served as the titular "home".[7] By April 2022, Marilee Talkington joined the cast.[8]

Release

In October 2023, Lionsgate acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.[9] The film is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025 in the United States.[1] It is set to open the FrightFest film festival on August 21, 2025.[10][11]
