The Breadwinner is an upcoming American comedy film directed by Eric Appel from a script by Nate Bargatze and Dan Lagana. The film stars Bargatze, as well as Mandy Moore, Will Forte, Colin Jost, and Kumail Nanjiani.
The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 13, 2026.
Premise
After his wife ends up landing a deal on Shark Tank, Nate Bargatze has to become a stay-at-home dad.

Production
In November 2024, TriStar Pictures picked up the rights to distribute the Nate Bargatze-written The Breadwinner, which he would also star in.[1] In February 2025, it was announced that Eric Appel would direct the film.[2] In May 2025, Mandy Moore, Will Forte, Colin Jost, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Cherry, Kate Berlant, and Martin Herlihy were cast in the film.[3][4] Principal photography began on May 22, 2025, in Atlanta.[5]

The Breadwinner is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 13, 2026.[6]
