Taiwo Oyedele (born 18 June 1975)[1] is a Nigerian economist and accountant. He serves as the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms in Nigeria, a role he assumed following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu in July 2023.[2][3][4]

Early life and education

Oyedele obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in accountancy and finance from Yaba College of Technology. He completed executive education programs at the London School of Economics, Yale University, and Harvard Kennedy School.[5]

Career

Oyedele worked at PwC as Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.[6][7]

In July 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed Oyedele as the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.[8][9] Oyedele is an associate professor at Babcock University and a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.[2][10]

Oyedele is the Thematic Lead for the Fiscal Policy and Planning Commission and chairman of the West Africa Debt Management Roundtable under the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).[11] He also serves as chairman of the Taxation and Fiscal Policy Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He was the Dean of the Faculty of Direct Taxation at the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), a member of the Global Governing Council of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Global Tax Forum.[5]
