Stuart Richard Walter Laws (born 7 April 1984) is a British comedian, writer, director, producer, and actor. He is known for his stand-up specials Is That Guy Still Going? and Stuart Laws Is All In, as well as for directing shows by other comedians. Laws has written for BBC Radio 4, supported major UK comics on tour, and founded the production company Turtle Canyon Comedy, which has produced work for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BBC, and Channel 4.[1]
Career
Stand-up comedy
Laws began performing stand-up in the early 2010s, debuting his solo Edinburgh Festival Fringe show Absolutely Will Not Stop, Ever, Until You Are Dead in 2013.[2]
His 2024 special Is That Guy Still Going? was released via 800 Pound Gorilla Media, mixing absurd setups with personal reflections on grief, relationships, fatherhood, and autism.[3]
He has performed at festivals including the Leicester Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.
Writing, directing and production
As founder of Turtle Canyon Comedy, Laws writes, directs, and produces sketches, sitcoms, stand-up specials, and podcasts. He has written for BBC Radio 4 and directed several specials for other comedians, including:

In 2024, he created and produced the documentary series The Debuts, which followed a group of comedians preparing for their first full-hour shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. The series was profiled in The Guardian as part of its coverage of the highs and lows of the Fringe festival.[5] In the same year he also appeared on Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster.
He also directed and appeared in Comedians Beer Mat Flipping Championship and contributed to Channel 4’s digital comedy platform Mashed.[6]
Style and themes
Laws’s comedy blends surreal storytelling, misdirection, and emotionally honest reflections. Recent shows often begin with absurd scenarios that lead into deeper material on personal topics.
Personal Life
In 2024, Laws was diagnosed with Autism. [7] He is in a relationship with fellow comedian Chloe Radcliffe. [8] [9]
