The twenty-seventh season of the American animated series South Park is scheduled to premiere on Comedy Central on July 23, 2025.[1][2] Paramount Global executive Chris McCarthy told investors that next day streaming will be on Paramount+, however, the deal is still pending.[3] The season was originally scheduled to premiere July 9 but was delayed.[4][5]
Production
In September 2024, Trey Parker and Matt Stone stated that season 27 would not air until 2025, reasoning that they want to skip on parodying Donald Trump and the 2024 United States presidential election.[6][7]
On April 2, 2025, Comedy Central released a teaser video announcing the upcoming debut of Season 27 on YouTube[8] with an accompanying press release confirming the start date of the new season.[4] Lex Briscuso with IGN noted that the teaser video included clips of "several big (and topical) moments from the season, like several major plane crashes, the Statue of Liberty being pulled down, a P. Diddy appearance, and some kind of war with Canada."[9] The "war with Canada" has been speculated to be a reference to the US-Canada tariff war and the "51st state" statement, which has been repeated by Donald Trump since late 2024. On July 2, 2025, a new press release from Comedy Central announced the delay of the season until July 23, 2025.[2]
