Territory

The territory of the South America District includes states recognized by the Government of the Italian Republic in the South American region, as well as the Central American country of Trinidad and Tobago. Citizens residing in overseas countries and territories (e.g., French Guiana) are instead included in their respective European states within the Europe District.

The country with the largest number of registered Italian voters is Argentina, while the one with the fewest is Guyana. Although there is an Italian consulate in Suriname,[1] no ballots from this country appear in the Ministry of the Interior’s election archive.
