History

During the Holodomor of 1932-1933, at least 5 villagers died.[2]

During the German occupation of the region, a civilian from Novooleksandrivka, Lukia Stachenko (1879-1973), prepared bread for the partisans of the Black Forest of the Skyrda army. A man known by surname Krasnozhon, the headman of Novooleksandrivka (born in Stanyshyna, today Sokilnyky), took bread from Lukia and handed it over to the partisans, also in Vodiane, for which he was betrayed by collaborators and shot in the steppes behind Znamianka.

Before 1970s the villsge was called Stanyshyna (Ukr. Станишина).
