Skala (Greek: Σκάλα) is a village located in the municipality of Oichalia, Messenia, Peloponnese in Greece.[2] It is situated in the interior of the Messenia Plain, around 21 km north of Kalamata and at an altitude of around 90 meters. [3]
Climate
Skala enjoys a sunny and warm Mediterranean climate (Köppen: Csa). According to the data of the National Observatory of Athens station, winters are mild while summers are extremely hot by Greece's standards. [4]

Municipality
The municipality Oichalia was formed at the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the following 5 former municipalities, that became municipal units:
The municipality has an area of 415.433 km2, the municipal unit 59.060 km2.[6]
