Simona Mohamsson (born 27 December 1994) is a Swedish politician serving as Minister for Education and Minister for Integration in the Kristersson cabinet since 2025.[1] She has been Leader of the Liberals since June 2025.[2]

Biography

Mohamsson was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, and moved to Sweden at the age of eight.[3] Upon moving to Sweden the family changed their last name from Mohammed to Mohamsson.[4] Her father is Palestinian and her mother is from Lebanon.[4]

She has been vice-chairman of the Liberal Youth of Sweden (LUF).[5] Mohamsson published the book Hongkong RIP in 2021, about the democracy movement in Hong Kong.[6] She has previously supported giving military and economic help to Ukraine.[7]
