Shinsegae Gangnam is a Shinsegae branded shopping center in the Gangnam neighborhood of Seoul. It was opened on October 5th, 2000 at 176 Sinbanpo-ro, otherwise known as the Seocho-gu express bus terminal.[1][2]

Shinsegae Gangnam was the #1 shopping center in sales amongst Korean department stores in 2021, and the #3 store in the world in 2020.[3] The shopping center is open 365 days a year, despite individual stores occasionally closing.[4]

Layout

There are 11 floors, including a market in the basement. There is also a garden and a restaurant on the roof, one of 10 restaurants in the center. Shinsegae Gangnam has gone through two major renovations, one in 2009 and another in 2025. Both renovations primarily focused on the market on the basement level, with Jeffrey Beers International doing the second interior. The market opened February 27th, 2025 following the most recent renovation.[5][6]
