In 2022, the Sharjah Metro Study Report and Proposal, prepared by Emirati student Ahmed Mohammed Jalil, a geography and urban planning student at the Al Ain University , and Dr. Khawla Al Kaabi, chairman of the geography and urban planning department at the university, was submitted to Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the Sharjah Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah. This was the first proposal,[1] followed by a proposal prepared by the Indian UAE Resident in 2025.[2][3] [4]

Phase 1
According to the 2025 proposal, the future route from Maleeha Road Etihad Railway Station to Saja Industrial Area is 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) long, the Red Line from Al Rahmaniya to Al Nahda is 29-kilometre (18 mi) , and the Green Line from Sharjah Cricket Stadium to Al Hira Beach Area is 10-kilometre (6.2 mi) [5][6]
