Shah Muhammad Ishaq Dehlawi[a] (4 November 1783 – 20 July 1846), was an Indian Islamic scholar with his major focus having been fiqh and hadith studies.
Biography
Ishaq was born on 14 November 1782 in Delhi. He was the son of Shah Waliullah Dehlawi through his son Abdulghani. He studied hadith under his father Abdulghani and his grandfather Shah Waliullah.[1][2] He taught at the Madrasah Rahimiyya,[3] and died on 20 July 1846 in Mecca, after which he was buried in Jannat al-Mu'alla next to Khadija bint Khuwaylid.
His most prominent students include Ahmad Rida Khan, Syed Nazeer Husain and Ahmad Ali Saharanpuri.[4]
His only child was his son, Maulvi Nasiruddin.[5]
