Lieutenant General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat Khan HI(M) is a retired senior officer of the Pakistan Army. He served in a number of key command and staff positions, including as Corps Commander of XI Corps in Peshawar, Military Secretary at GHQ, and General Officer Commanding of the 7th Infantry Division in Miranshah. He retired from active service in May 2024.[1]

Early life and education

Details regarding his early life are not publicly documented. He is a graduate of the Pakistan Military Academy and has served with the Frontier Force Regiment.[2]

Military career

Hayat Khan was commissioned into the Pakistan Army in 1980. He rose through the ranks and held several notable command and staff appointments:

He served as General Officer Commanding of the 7th Infantry Division, Miranshah.[3]

He was appointed as Military Secretary at GHQ, responsible for overseeing personnel and postings.

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointed as Corps Commander, XI Corps, Peshawar in August 2022, replacing Faiz Hameed. He held the post until his retirement in May 2024.[4]

Post-retirement

After retiring from the military, he reportedly became associated with private initiatives, including promoting tourism in Pakistan.[5][1]
