The olympic venue for sailing was initial confirmed and bid as Long Beach which also hosted the sailing in 1984. But politically things were happening in the background and despite rumour to the contary in April Long Beach was confirmed.[2][3] So with under three year the sailing venue were split with Belmont Shore of Long Beach hoasting the board events and the Port of Los Angeles hosting the dinghy events.[4]
