Safawi (Arabic: الصفاوي) is a town in Mafraq Governorate, in Jordan.[2][3] In the 2015 census, there were 2,315 people in the town, of which 1,113 (48.1%) were female and 1,202 (51.9%) were male.[1]
The 1,500-year-old Sahabi tree, also known as the tree of al-Buqayawiyya and the 'blessed tree', is also located near the town.[4][5]

Northern Badia of Jordan, which is part of Mafraq governorate, extends over 11,210 km². It consists of thirty-four villages, most of which cluster in the more fertile North West of the country close to the Syrian borders. Safawi town is the administrative center of the area.
