Raunak Mahmud is a retired Bangladeshi government official who last served as the secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.[1] He previously served as additional secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division and as director general of the Directorate of Technical Education.[2]
Early life
Raunak Mahmud was born on 26 October 1962 in Bauphal, Patuakhali, then part of East Pakistan. He obtained his BSc (Honours) and master’s degrees from the Bangladesh Agricultural University. He has two sons.[2]
Career
Raunak Mahmud joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (administration cadre) as part of the 8th batch. During his career, he served in various administrative capacities, including as assistant commissioner, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, and additional district magistrate at the upazila and district levels. He also held positions in the Export Promotion Bureau, Dhaka City Corporation, NGO Affairs Bureau, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, and the Ministry of Public Administration.[2]
He served as secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock from 31 December 2019 to 28 September 2022.[1][2][3]
