The Qayyum Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The sports complex is owned by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It has an overall capacity of 15,000 spectators.[1] The stadium is part of the Peshawar Sports Complex which houses several facilities for all major sports including football, field hockey, squash, wrestling, boxing, badminton and swimming.[2][3] It is the biggest sports complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.[4]

History And Development

Qayyum Stadium was founded in 1975. The current site was selected in 1975 after previously using several grounds at the different locations in Peshawar.

The first grandstand at the Qayyum Stadium was a cricket club, which was built in 1975. Furthermore, there is another grandstand in football ground. In march 2016, the provincial government of PTI launches the renovation and beautification of Qayyum Stadium.[5]
