    • The "consolidated railroad station" in Lenox, Massachusetts is destroyed by fire; investigation shows the cause to be the overheated basement furnace.[2]
    • The Thompson Tramway, a predecessor of the Connecticut Company, is renamed Worcester and Connecticut Eastern Railway.
  • 1912 – The Utah Railway is incorporated to haul coal from the company's mines to Provo, Utah.
