Paul M. Katz is a British-born multiple Grammy nominated music executive, attorney, author, and social entrepreneur. He is the founder of Entertain Impact, a marketing agency.
Career
Katz worked at EMI Records early in his career before joining Zomba Group. At Zomba, he contributed to the development of Jive Records and Verity Records, working with artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, and Outkast.[1] He also oversaw Zomba Films Crossroads project with Britney Spears. Katz oversaw for the studio's music production for films including work that received Grammy nominations.[1] He oversaw and soundtracks for films including the Twilight franchise with Alex Patsavas, Green Book and 12 Years a Slave.[1]
In 2005, Katz founded Entertain Impact, an agency that creates and implements campaigns for philanthropic organizations, businesses, and public figures to engage popular culture in support of social issues.
In 2020, Katz established the Entertain Impact Advocacy Alliance, a nonprofit organization that works on pro-democracy initiatives.[2] The group has supported efforts to restore voting rights for certain populations in the United States.[2]
Katz service on the boards of organizations including the ELMA Music US Foundation, the Greenberger Center for Social and Criminal Justice, Made in Memphis Entertainment, and the Recording Academy (Grammys).[3]
Authorship
Katz is the author of Good Influence: How To Engage Influencers For Purpose And Profit, a book focused on engaging influencers and popular culture to further the missions and social impact of nonprofits and the philanthropic community.[4]
Awards and recognition
Katz has received Grammy nominations for his work in film music production and was recognized with an American Music Award for the Twilight soundtrack.[5] His book Good Influence has received several awards.[6][7]
