Otto Joachim Lüdecke (27 May 1894 – 14 February 1971) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was wounded twice in WWI and twice severely in WWII. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Lieutenant General Lüdecke was captured by American troops in May 1945, he was handed over the British troops and held until 1948.
