Osieczna [ɔˈɕɛt͡ʂna] (German: Hagenort) is a village in Starogard County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Osieczna.[1] It lies approximately 31 km (19 mi) south-west of Starogard Gdański and 72 km (45 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk. It is located in the ethnocultural region of Kociewie.
History
During the German occupation of Poland (World War II), Osieczna was one of the sites of executions of Poles, carried out by the Germans in 1939 as part of the Intelligenzaktion.[2]
