Nuremberg is an upcoming American historical drama film written and directed by James Vanderbilt. It is based on the 2013 non-fiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai. It will star Rami Malek, Russell Crowe, and Michael Shannon.
The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 7, 2025, by Sony Pictures Classics.
Premise
The movie depicts psychiatrist Douglas Kelley as he interviews Nazi prisoners to determine whether they are fit to stand trial.

Production
It was announced in December 2023 that James Vanderbilt was set to write and direct the film, with Rami Malek, Russell Crowe and Michael Shannon set to star.[1] Additional casting including Richard E. Grant, Leo Woodall, John Slattery and Colin Hanks was announced in January and February 2024.[2][3]
Filming began in Budapest in February 2024, and had wrapped by May 2024.[4][5]
Release
In June 2025, Sony Pictures Classics acquired distribution rights to Nuremberg in North America and across airlines worldwide, scheduling it for a release in the United States on November 7, 2025.[6]
