Nowshahr County (Persian: شهرستان نوشهر) is in Mazandaran province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Nowshahr.[4]
History
After the 2006 National Census, the village of Pul was elevated to the status of a city.[5] After the 2011 census, the village of Kojur also rose to city status.[6]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 116,334 in 31,842 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 128,647 people in 38,496 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 138,913 in 45,759 households.[3]

Tourism
There are several tourist attractions in Nowshahr county, including several waterfalls and villages, some sights are listed below:[9]
- Sisangan Forest Park
- Farakhin Lake: Located inside the Hyrcanian forests, the lake is at an elevation of 790 m (2,590 ft) above see level and is completely surrounded by forest trees. Darno waterfall is located near the lake.[10]
