North Bontang (Indonesian: Bontang Utara, Indonesian pronunciation: [ˈbɔntaŋ uˈtara]) is a district of the Bontang, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. As of 2024, it was inhabited by 89,010 people, and currently has a total area of 334 km2. Its district seat is located at the village of Bontang Baru.[3]
The district was separated on 1 December 1989 from the former district of Bontang.[1] On 16 July 1999, West Bontang was formed out from the district.[4] North Bontang shares borders with Teluk Pandan to the north, Teluk Pandan and West Bontang to the west, and South Bontang to the south.
