Nikita Poudel is a Nepalese film producer[3] and former chairperson of Film Development Board.[4]

Career

Poudel has produced Kusume Rumal 2, Sundar Mero Naam, and Preeti Ko Phool. She became the first female to be chairperson of Nepal Film Development Board on 15 December 2017.[5][6] She resigned from February 2019 for violating rules of the board.[7]

Personal life

Poudel’s first marriage was to Abhaya Shah, with whom she has a daughter, Abhanika Shah.[8] After their separation, Shah moved to the United States, and Poudel has largely remained absent from her daughter’s life. In 2019, she married Rabi Lamichhane, a media personality and politician, registering their marriage amid growing media attention.[9]

Both Poudel and Lamichhane are divorcees with children from previous marriages. None of their children live with them, and the couple has faced criticism for neglecting parental responsibilities and remaining distant from their children's upbringing.[10]
