Nguyễn Cư Trinh is a ward (phường) of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.[1]

Geography location

Nguyễn Cư Trinh ward lies on the southwest of District 1, borders with:

  • Wards of Cô Giang and Phạm Ngũ Lão to the east by Trần Hưng Đạo Boulevard and Nguyễn Cư Trinh Street (stretch from Trần Hưng Đạo to Cống Quỳnh Street)
  • Ward 2 and Ward 4, District 5 to the west by Nguyễn Văn Cừ Boulevard
  • Cầu Kho Ward to the south by Trần Hưng Đạo Boulevard (stretch from Hồ Hảo Hớn to Nguyễn Văn Cừ Boulevard)
  • Ward 2 and Ward 5, District 3 and Phạm Ngũ Lão ward to the west by streets of Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai and Cống Quỳnh.

The ward has an area of 0,77 km², with population in 2021 is 20.878 người, population density is 27.114 people/km².

History

Beforr 1975, Nguyễn Cư Trinh là một was a ward of the 2nd District (District 2), City of Saigon.

In 1976, District 2 was merged into District 1, Nguyễn Cư Trinh ward disolved and separated into two numeric wards are 14 and 15 of District 1.[2]

On December 28, 1988, The Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 184-HĐBT.[2] From that, ward 14 and 15 merged together to re-establish Nguyễn Cư Trinh Ward of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
